Chole Masala For serving 4 people.
Ingredients:
250 gm Kabuli Chana, 1-1 tsp ginger/garlic paste, 250 gm grated onion, 2 tbsp Chhotelal Chole Masala, 250 gm grated tomato, 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, salt as per taste, chilli powder .
Method:
- Soak gram in water overnight
- The next morning, drain the water and add a pinch of soda bicarbonate and boil it till it becomes soft and almost dry.
- Heat 5 tbsp ghee and add ginger, garlic and onion and fry till light golden colour, add all spices, salt and tomatoes and cook till dry, add gram and 1 cup of water and cook till the gravy becomes thick.
Note: According to tradition, chickpeas/chickpeas are eaten/eaten with raw onion and lemon salad accompaniment with a type of Indian roti called batura, but you can also eat it with any roti or puri.
